About Me:
I am a retired Commander of the California Highway Patrol (CHP) with a distinguished career of over 25 years. Throughout my career, I was stationed up and down the State of California for various promotions and opportunities including special assignments and administrative duties. As the Commander or Acting Commander, I had oversight of and managed up to 180+ personnel including uniformed and non-uniformed, including teenage Explorers and senior volunteers; at times during high-stress critical incidents and natural disasters in close collaboration with local, state, and federal allied law enforcement (LE) agencies, elected officials, and community-based organizations and leaders.
I planned, organized, and directed CHP Area activities for all uniformed, non-uniformed, and volunteer personnel as a Sergeant, Lieutenant, Acting Commander, and Commander. I successfully managed and interacted with individuals from diverse backgrounds, including different levels of rank, personalities, social statuses, races, and religions within the community, allied LE agencies, elected officials, and the CHP. For over six years in conjunction with my regular assigned duties, I taught over seven different leadership and development courses to sergeants, Lieutenants, Captains, Chiefs, dispatchers, and non-uniformed personnel.
